Since the US polls close in the middle of our workday, the temptation 
to check throughout the day may be high and against 'company policy'. 
Crikey has a free access page that lists the closing times for all the polls at
http://blogs.crikey.com.au/pollbludger/2008/11/03/presidential-election-minus-two-days/

My bet is that the results will  be known by noon because two of the 
critical swing states, Ohio and Virginia, will close by 11.30 AEDT. 
Earlier if Indiana goes Democrat and closes as 11am. I'm from 
Indiana, a traditionally conservative state, but tied in the polls at 
the moment.
