I would expect more eyeballs to be watching TV, if only because there
are more eyeballs in Australia than ever before, and certainly since
2000. The article you refer to sounds interesting. And I'd be even
more interested to know what demographic studies show: all the young
'uns I know exclusively use the 'net for moving pictures these days,
apart from seeing a movie once in a while on the big screen. Perhaps
it is different in regional outposts like Canberra.
