I disagree that the data centre management model is the whole of government
outsourcing model.
Bright eyed and bushytailed...my first job, in Canberra, was working on a
timeshared Cyber 76 on CSIRONET, way back in 1982. I also decommissioned
a card punch, introducing a PC (Northstar/CPM) and "End User computing".
The next job, was insourcing from the Cyber 76 to an inhouse prime.....
The Government Bureau service model being resurrected in Queensland, along with
a new role of CITO gets my vote:
> CITEC is the primary technology service provider for the Queensland Government delivering both whole-of-government and agency specific ICT services. CITEC's range of ICT services include: data centre services, infrastructure services, network services, solutions integration services and information brokerage services.
