And this in itself is a worry: why does 'subliminal' have to have a  
negative connotation? It's the act of wanting to subvert our minds  
that is the concern. However, I reiterate that ALL advertising seeks  
to do this: surreptitious or not.

All advertising is a process of indoctrination/brainwashing/inculcation.
