"Can ideas be stolen"? No. Of course not.

By definition, only physical objects can be stolen, i.e. possession  
taken with no intent to return.

An idea can be "copied", however -- but the originator is still able  
to make use of the idea.

All pretty basic stuff, I'd have thought.
