[LINK] OLPC in Australia

I recently accompanied my partner to a school where the OLPC XOs had  
been in use for 2 or 3 weeks and it was truly an eye-opening  
experience to see 6-year-olds using them with confidence.

My partner was shooting a short video documentary on this as part of  
his masters in Digital Media at the College of Fine Art (COFA) at  
UNSW, and because he only had clearance at this stage to film the  
children for internal DET/UNSW use, we can't share that footage. Yet.  
(Oddly enough, taking pictures of schoolchildren is fraught with  
paperwork and concern.) However I do intend to write more about it  
when I get the time.

However, having read about Project Dynabook as a teenager, I was blown  
away to se the damn things in the hands of every single child in this  
place. The future has arrived. And now we get to see what they'll do  
with it.
