I totally agree. I put aside my personal views this time as the product
really is quite good and has a lot of very nice features. The company
appeared to be fair dinkum regarding support of the non-profit sector
and genuinely supportive of their open source version. I was lured in by
the open source version and how solid it is.
However, if our members want to stick with Outlook as the front end then
they won't see the web interface that much anyway, which is where Zimbra
really shines. And yes, the do want to use Outlook as the front end as
it's already on their machines and they will not accept change. I drag a
lot of horses to water just to watch them die of thirst. Feel sorry for
me.
I'll be installing egroupware on our development server this weekend.
Then I'll stay after school and write lines on the blackboard several
hundred times, "I shall never stray from true FOSS again". :-) Am I
forgiven?
