It's going to be rolled out to Tasmania first, most likely in the next  
24 months - and, as was indicated by the government, the LAST person  
to receive FTTH will get it in 8 years, if all goes according to plan.

Listening to Nick Minchin on the radio raving about the folly of this  
exercise tells me that the opposition are on a hiding to nothing here:  
and it's very clear that Minchin's advisors don't know much about the  
subject matter. Should prove to be rather entertaining for reporters  
over the next few days.
