What irks me is that federal legislation requires all boats that
travel more than 2 nautical miles beyond 'partially smooth waters'
must have an EPIRB, yet 4WDs travelling into remote areas do not.
Oh yes, and to rent an EPIRB costs as little as $50 a week...
