I'd hate a reasonable argument to interfere with the hyperbole, but see this article from The Register at http://www.theregister.co.uk/2009/08/13/microsoft_word_patent_i4i/ or http://out-law.com/page-10254 for an outline of the case as it currently stands.

And geez Rachel, you really seem to have a problem with life...
