On Monday I attended the first round table and the first public forum of
the Government 2.0 Taskforce. The task force is having a series of
meetings around Australia, with large open public forums and smaller
closed meetings with selected people from government, industry and
academia. I have been asked to suggest academics to invite to the round
tables (apparently the secretiriat thinks I am an academic). If any
researcher or educator is interetsed in attending, please let me know
and will pass your details on.
Hopefully the task force will have sorted out its processes by the time
of the second round of meetings. But anyone attending should prepare
themselves for a frustrating experience. The task force is having
difficulty with the concepts and the practicalities of using the
Internet for consultation. But they mean well, so please be patient with
them. ;-)
