Presumably the Liberal Party Constitution doesn't preclude
abstention, and an informal vote enables a person to abstain
anonymously.

There was one MP or senator who voted informally in the second vote.
Sky News reported that the informal vote was marked with the word
''no''.
Yes, that does leave open the possibility that the person thought
they were voting on the spill.
But, if so, then the person concerned clearly can't count to two, or
had had a *particularly* enjoyable, um, morning tea?
And a Returning Officer who's running several votes, especially in a
highly-charged atmosphere, is well-advised to design the chits so
that it's pretty clear to the voter which motion they're voting on.
