Not sure where the 'use of browser search boxes' entered the subject, but I'm with the others so far: never use the standard page, but obviously many do...

I cannot understand why people like to see only 25 at a time (or whatever the default is).

But this aside, I prefer the browser search box if only it can be customised, and doesn't require an interstitial page that only gets in the way before search results appear.
