Can you explain the explanation? ;-)

As an example, as the author and publisher of a book, I signed up with
the settlement. Was this a good thing to do? I assumed that if I signed
up I was more likely to get something out of it than not.

One curious aspect of it is that the system which Google funded for 
authors to register assumed I had no interest as my book had an 
Australian ISBN <http://www.googlebooksettlement.com>. I have to prove 
that the book is sold in the USA and therefore I have an interest.
