Thank you for pointing out what is often forgotten: in a democracy,  
the government IS us. If we complain that "They" haven't done  
something it's because we've sat back and let "Them"... "Them" just  
being our fellow citizens who we haven't persuaded.

That said, we need the conversation about What Needs To Be Done to  
happen in a venue and in a way which could eventually result in the  
thing being done. One letter on paper to a Minister is worth a  
thousand angry blog posts which they'll never see.
