2009 Board Election

Report of the 2009 ISOC Nominations Committee - 9 February 2009

On behalf of the Nominations Committee, we are pleased to announce the
nominees for the 2009 ISOC Board of Trustees election. This year, two
Trustees will be elected by ISOC Organizational Members and one by ISOC
Chapters for 3-year terms that start June 2009 and expire June 2012.

The Committee received nominations from many well-qualified nominees
which made the reviewing and selection process quite difficult. The
Committee would like to extend our sincere thanks to everyone who
submitted a nomination and especially to every nominee who agreed to be
considered. We would also like to thank the Committee for their time and
efforts as well as for their valuable comment. We consider the level of
interest in this election to be a positive sign about the importance and
visibility of ISOC's work.

The Nominations Committee has selected 5 candidates to be included in the
ballot for the Organisational Membership Election and 2 candidates to be
included in the ballot for the Chapter Membership Election.

The selected candidates for Organisational Membership Election are:

Guanghao Li, China
Allen Miller, United States
Phillip Smith, Australia
Jonathan Zittrain, United States

The selected candidates for the Chapters Election are:
