That's more likely because the things you would have torn out aren't
in print any more to be found in the same way. Now those sorts of
stories are dispersed all over the web in possibly too many places.
There are some jaw-droppers still being developed, like a story I
read about flexible screen material that more like a sheet of paper
than the e-ink approaches on the ebook readers that can be damaged
[google sony ereader damage for stories that are emerging]. New
Inventors on the ABC show up some really clever things from time to
time, just not often in ICT.
Innovation is happening still. But maybe ICT is in a settling in
period in terms of the public consciousness, as well as the 'hidden'
stories about what *is* happening.
