IANAL, but I believe that during the discovery phase of criminal proceedings
the defense must be provided with all witness statements and other
evidence from the prosecution / police. I don't know if wiretaps are
specifically excluded from this most basic of legal rights. But if it is
excluded, all the more reason for a human and legal rights bill in our
constitution. One that includes ALL evidence, regardless of how it was obtained.

Apparently, under Australia's anti-terrorism legislation, such evidence
does not have to be provided at any time. This is a travesty of justice.
