A Health informatics conference "HIC 2009" will be held in Canberra 
19 to 21 August 2009: <http://www.hisa.org.au/hic09>. This covers the 
use of computers and telecommunications in healthcare. Given the 
Federal Health Minister Nicola Roxon has courageously revived the 
idea of a medical smart card for Australia, it will make an 
interesting topic for discussion at the conference.
