[LINK] Indemnity and Liability Insurance for ICT in AU

David, my experiences with the insurance industry were as I expected.

I contacted a number of insurance brokers to tell them about my
requirements, and it seemed strange to them that I only required
public liability insurance and not professional indemnity. One even
refused to just deal with me only for public liability.

My client, a Govt dept, specifically dropped the requirement for
professional indemnity, and I'm not in the habit of paying for
insurance I don't need.

In the end I went with GIO as the pricing was about the same for PL, $650.

I'll be happy to pass on the details of the brokers I called, but I
really couldn't recommend any of them. Being just a small fry, they
made me feel like a nuisance.

I wish I had glowing references to share, but in total the insurance
industry has performed to my expectations. YMMV.

George
