In my P2P study I am finding that most of the popular US TV shows are
downloaded by between 800-3000 australians within a week of their first
airing in the USA.

Whether that's a result of the Tivo box having an ethernet connection -
or other PVR/DVR hardware sales - or just attitudes to the Foxtel
repeat, repeat repeat, repeat again EPG, and the introduction of FTA
advertising practices of turning the volume up for the adverts..... the
pushback from Australian consumers must be similarly affecting Foxtel's
revenue base - although we don't have the same bandwidth capabilities.
i.e.: Comcast 40 mb/psec to 250 GB Cap. = 750 one hour TV shows every
month.

I havent studied the Annual report this year - but I am sure it wont
show up as a drop in subsribers until next year.
Depending on the accounting standard that Foxtel uses.

Tom
