Back in 1995 when I was VP at BMG Records in Sydney we put together a series
of demos that did exactly the same as the stuff that is on the site, as a
pitch to get Disney¹s distribution. (We were developing ideas for uses for
discs that would contain both audio and multimedia files just before the
launch of Mosaic. This was achieved by activating some of the binary
switching on the discs to open up Track 0. Outside of blue book specs).
We took a couple of the Disney books, scanned the images, scanned the text,
animated the text and added a voice over. Very simple. Disney loved it, and
we closed the deal. But I left BMG and no one followed through.
I don¹t see this stuff as being earth shattering, but maybe it means that
there will be an infinite number of jobs for people who are good at flash...
