[LINK] Those snooping mobiles

Linkers may recall that I asked about one of those late night TV ads
for mobile phone tracking. According to this article, although the
particular ad isn't mentioned, it's probably a scam. However, there
are other actual tracking systems that are on offer, and may be
illegal if used without consent according to CHOICE.

The companies that offer it write themselves out of liability in the
'contract', so they say. Sounds like our discussion about the
function of TOS. But, isn't selling a service that is knowingly
illegal some sort of breach of fair trading? I can see that things
can have good and bad applications, like guns, but those have
regulations to restrict use and handling.

Our truest response to the irrationality of the world is to paint or
sing or write, for only in such response do we find truth.
