You've missed the point. Gaming and web pages were used as examples, not
the sum total of the applications that will benefit.

My point was that *interactivity* benefits from higher speed; volume is
not the only reason to have higher speeds. And, except for email and
downloads, almost everything we do is interactive.

If the network is better, everyone benefits, even those who are happy
with their current download speeds and not worried about latency. Much
as everyone benefits from a good road system, even those who do not
drive - their groceries are delivered more efficiently and thus more
cheaply.[1]

A network that is fast and easy to access frees up more minds to work
and play on it. Again, a benefit to all.

When it comes to how much money, CPU speed, bandwidth and memory you
have, there are only three meaningful values: "Too little" "enough" and
"I don't know". I want a world where everyone can happily answer "I
don't know".
