 "Lectures are the worst possible learning format"

No, the worst possible learning format is going to the bar and missing
the lecture, thinking that you can always download the recording
later. You would probably do this at 3am on the morning of your final
exam.

Of course attending the lecture and spending the time playing games or
emailing your friends on your iPhone may not be ideal either...
