Google does seem to have some problems
with place names.

In the past if you entered Annandale into
Google Search, it returned relevant 
Australian
websites but a map of Annandale, 
Virginia, US.
I just checked and this seems to be 
fixed now.

There was some irony, in this, as Google
Maps are done at Google in Pyrmont just
a couple of light rail stops away from
Annandale.... but it was worse than that -
before Google moved to their new HQ in
Pyrmont, there was much amusement that
their location, in Sydney, on Google maps
was wrong!
