Excellent stuff.

I strongly believe that a Bill of Rights that enshrined our rights as
citizens to various privacy considerations will go a long way to
addressing such issues.

Geoffrey Robertson's "A Statute of Liberties" clearly and succinctly
outlines how such a bill or a charter can operate within the existing
framework of the Australian constitution and current legal framework.

Although it must be noted that the Bill of Rights as implemented in
the UK for the past 10 years probably does not go far enough in nailing
down the privacy rights of its citizens. One CCT camera for every 15
citizens in the UK (my estimate based on 4 million++ cameras) is but one
example of the public surveillance gone wild.
