For the Mac users out there, Delicious Library (http://delicious-monster.com/
) is a good option.
Lots of interesting features - uses the built in camera on my Mac as a
barcode scanner, and connects to the Amazon server to download details
for each book (plus music CDs and DVDs). It pulls in cover images,
reviews, current price, second hand price, etc. If there isn't a
barcode it can accept either an ISBN or title, and search on that. You
can then select the correct book from the list presented.
I've catalogued my library, and it was able to find details on most
books - even for some (but not all) as far back as the 1820s.
