I think that Apple has quite a lot to say on so called 'green-
washing'. They have been particularly critical of so-called green
assessments which they believed to be inadequate, and did not take
into account all factors relating to the complete life-cycle - and
beyond - of a given product, including shipping costs of raw
materials, and business energy costs.

A good starting point:

But I do commend Apple for taking this seriously and seeking to
ameliorate the issue on so many levels, and not just in product
manufacture and recycling - they go much further than this as a
general corporate citizen, with commuter programs and the like.
