Just turn off "display remote images in HTML messages" or equivalent
in your email client. Or use an email client which allows you to do
that.
It's a big bad world out there in the intertubes, isn't it at least
partly your responsibility to protect yourself against it? (At least
they didn't send you a Word document with just text in it!)
