One of the interesting points about computer materials and
energy efficiency is the base or standby energy used not
the peak. Systems are built to cater for peak use and lie
idle but using up energy and materials for a significant
amount of time - then they become obsolete.

Data centres are going to have to become smarter. The
combination of cloud computing and the ubiquitous
browser interface, does allow for cost shifting and
that even seems to be the purveyors of the cloud's
marketing pitch.

Getting the business model right is part of the challenge
and the benefits below should not be dismissed.

The device is ready in an instant and offers end users direct access to their virtual desktops. Data can be accessed from any machine within the infrastructure. Downtimes are minimized as damaged virtual machines can be restored from the backup within just a few minutes.
