Enterprises can deal with this sort of thing. They often have IT
staff, if they are any good they should be able to rebuild any system
fairly quickly, ie less than an hour. It's small business and home
users who will be hit hard.
Personally I hate the way systems from major manufacturers come
preloaded with crapware, demos, trial versions and nagware, especially
AV software. I'm sure this is where Macafee gets a lot of customers.
I spent quite a lot of time in 2008 repairing systems after AVG did
something similar and rendered machines unbootable. At least AVG was
free and it wasn't expensive to move away from it. Macafee now, you
might have money tied up in licenses and not want to change.
