[LINK] McAfee update problem

A possibly dumb question, but the hour is late ...

Would DD work for making a true copy of a 'Doze drive?

(I say this because after going through a configuration hell with an 
older Linux box - the hell wasn't Linux but Asterisk - I made a literal 
copy of the drive with DD and it behaved perfectly. New drive booted 
just like it was the old one).
