It was a good event to be at in person at IIF2010. The speakers stayed
for the breaks, so the audience could talk to them informally.
NLA makes their events blogger friendly, by providing power points in
one section of the seating (front left). Apart from being useful for
those who need the power for their laptops, it seats the bloggers
together: you can post a comment and see the reaction from those around.
There is still the value of face to face communication. At the forum Dr
Genevieve Bell talked about the importance of random encounters (using
the example of a cafe). A few days later I bumped into her at the cafe
of the State Library of South Australia:

ps: The refurbished lecture theatre at the ANU College of Engineering
and Computer Science has a giant power board under each row of seats,
with a power socket for each seat:
