The locking in of content was the big drawback on Google 
wave, and the reason I could see no point in signing up for 
Facebook. I look forward to checking out the tools they come 
up with to allow me to liberate my content.

Kind of related, Google User Maps evolved  to allow the 
inclusion of Hyperlinks in placemarkers. Given the recent 
GPS story, access to local information via hyperlinks from 
maps is invaluable. I've done a few maps and my experiment 
in an open collaboration map is here...
