Yes I know that.  It's a different scale.  I realise google trades in  
Australia and I would guess that calls in Australia may not go through  
US servers, but they might.   It's currently only on offer in the US  
anyway so right now it's moot but it's just the sheer aggregation of  
personal data to one enormous US company.

Optus doesn't have world-wide email offering and hold many, many  
people's emails around the world.  Optus is not the major choice of  
search engine for the whole world and doesn't keep logs of searches  
for nearly everyone in the world.
