As the owner & manager of my fm broadcast radio station, i pay sizable
annual fees to APRA-AMCOS <http://www.apra-amcos.com.au> for my license.
"The Australasian Performing Right Association (APRA) collects and
distributes licence fees for the public performance and communication of
our members' musical works. The Australasian Mechanical Copyright Owners
Society (AMCOS) collects and distributes mechanical royalties for the
reproduction of our members' musical works."
whereby, "Works .. means all musical works, including any words normally
associated with those works by the copyright owner for Australia, the
right of public performance of which is vested in APRA for Australia and
New Zealand."
Cheers,
Stephen
