[LINK] New Sydney Metropolitan Transport Plan lacks Internet use

The NSW Premier, Kristina Keneally, yesterday released a Metropolitan 
Transport Plan (19 Mbytes PDF):

This essentially abandons the plan of the previous Premier and 
reinstates the plan from the one before. My summary at:

It is a shame that the opportunity was not taken to update the plan with 
some of the ways the Internet, the web and ICT in general, can improve 
transport. The plan mentions using GPS to give buses priority at traffic 
lights, but that is about all. Given Australian state governments 
problems with smart card ticket systems it is not surprising these are 
not explicitly mentioned, but there other things which can be done, such 
as better real-time reporting to passengers and free WiFi on board, in 
line with my submission on the Sydney CBD:
