[LINK] Tsunami Warning - contact bom.gov.au

At about 6:00 pm this evening, AEDT, an earthquake quaked off the
coast of western South America. Since then, there have been reports
of damage and inundation on the coast.

Let our hearts and minds go out to the people of Argentina, Chile,
Ecuador and Peru. It is very early in the episode and I fear the toll
will rise.

The excellent gummint site <http://www.bom.gov.au/> has issued a tsunami
warning for QLD & NSW in Aus (http://www.bom.gov.au/tsunami/).

The warning covers the east coast of Aus, from Queensland, Point Danger
down to Double Island Point, Moreton Bay and New South Wales, Broken Bay
to Point Danger.

The tsunami effect is due on the east coast of Aus by about 8:30 AM Sunday.

I don't really know what effect to expect.
