I was sent a URL setting out the details of a job I would have loved, with
the closing date for applications at the end of December. I bookmarked it
and got on with other things. Just before Christmas I put the application
together and checked the URL again just to make sure I had covered
everything they wanted.

Something made me scroll down to the bottom of the page, past a whole lot
of stuff that had nothing to do with the job or the employer. In a list of
possibly related sites there was a link to an updated version of the page
which was identical except that it had a different URL and said that the
closing date was really November 30.

I was not pleased. The boss at the employer is not answering my emails
expressing my surprise and disappointment.

Is it really that hard to make web sites useful?
