This particular justification yes, absolutely.
However, over time if Apple and Microsoft couldn't compete with
open(ish), "free" operating systems universally available at near zero
cost - or were painted into a special needs corner I can't see Google
shedding any tears.
That's all I was trying to say, perhaps drifting a little off topic
while doing so.
