I bet you do, actually. A lot of new cars require dealer servicing as
the equipment to repair them is proprietary and very expensive - so
you can't use your local, trusted mechanic.
Closed computer platforms, which can drastically cut support costs
have the disadvantages that come with ceding control - restrictions on
software, increased costs etc.
