It's a big 'if'. Not all ISPs and the range of traffic speeds are
available, even in 'developed' areas. In one way, I agree that speed
is a variable choice, so I could use dial-up if I don't like the one
or two broadband providers I can get. I also found out that I can't
get adsl2 because of Telstra's decision to put RIM on my local POP.
So in that case, the decision of a competing company doesn't allow me
to buy from anyone else if I want that speed. But of course, I can be
satisfied with 1.5mbps or dial-up, right? And this is essentially
what you had at the bottom of your message, had I read that far
before replying.
Content is another matter and too early to think about.
