Whilst this is probably true of most commodity cameras, I think you'd have
to look a long way before you found a higher-end DSLR like the D2Xs which
didn't have a dedicated clock battery.

In the case of the D2Xs it's a CR1616 lithium battery, which according to
the manual has a life span of about 4 years...
