What IMSI formats are used by iPads in Australia? Why should a 3G iPad need to know an email address (particularly where the user has no intention of using the device for email)? - refer to AT&T use of email in the IMSI.

I am thinking of the schoolkids with iPads - do the schools supply only WiFi models or do parents buy them (possibly to share after hours with the family, where 3G might be needed)
