Depending on the circumstances, yes.
It might not be 20 years of history, but any kind of history can be helpful when determining a course of action.
It's not a simple matter of saying that one type of data is not useful, but rather what data can be used to make an informed diagnosis, and what prognosis can be made from this data and possible actions.
