I don't agree at all here...

Murdoch's manic move will be a tremendous boon to organisations such as the BBC, and here in Australia, the ABC.

Each country offers very different landscapes when it comes to looking at the overall news distribution system. But reporters only see what's in front of their own nose in most instances.

Newspapers might be bleeding money in some places, but in others they are still very, very profitable (especially in places like India and China, interestingly).

Bland generalisations such as 'all newspapers are doomed' etc don't deserve the attention that they are getting, and most pundits fail to see the wood for the trees. I'm not even certain that 'news' is really news any more...
