Data centre strategy — whole‑of‑government procurement arrangements

The Government will provide $11.9 million over three years from 2010‑11 
to implement a whole‑of‑government data centre strategy for the 
procurement of data centre facilities and services. These arrangements 
will be applied to all agencies subject to the Financial Management and 
Accountability Act 1997 and will be made available to Commonwealth 
Authorities and Companies Act 1997 bodies and other Australian 

The cost of this measure will be met from the ICT Business As Usual 
Reinvestment Fund, established as part of the Review of the Australian 
Government's Use of Information and Communication Technology. Ongoing 
administration costs from 2013‑14 will be met by participating agencies.

The whole‑of‑government procurement efficiencies from the data centre 
strategy are estimated to be around $1.0 billion over the next 10 to 15
