They wouldn't have been using the term to mean an RSS feed.

Facebook's news feed is the front-and-centre section of your home page when you visit the site, showing a stream of events ("news") from your friends. Their status updates, new photos, blog-like posts etc. Facebook has a secret-sauce algorithm for deciding which items to show from the many possibilities.

IIRC this is specifically not available as an RSS feed because their whole model is built around you spending time on the site  so you see the advertising.

[I am relying on memory because I deleted my Facebook account a few months back.]
