Aha, I misread what you wrote. This bit...

... didn't mention that the text of the articles was removed.

There is recent US legal precedent to the effect that a wording of a headline is too minor a thing to count as a copyrightable artistic work. I daresay this is being appealed, but I have not followed the story.

On this point, though, I do note plenty of people copy and pasting entire news articles from commercial websites into Link emails. This, surely, is wrong?
